California State University, Hayward (CSUH) – Extended and Continuing Education is the founding education partner for the portal project. Along with its partners, CSUH’s involvement provides the institutional brand and creditability for the long-term success of the portal. CSUH partnership provides added value by certifying educational activities as well as certifying consultants and educational providers, who can offer their products and services through this portal.

One example of looking to leanSCM.net as an educational and solutions-based portal is the constant need of engineers and others in the industry for CEUs or academic credit for professional licensure and re-evaluation. The educational pull of the portal for engineers and other supply management professionals will be the ability to secure transcripted educational offerings by SME, ISM and others in order to manage their lifelong employability. The member benefit for association members is the accredited ‘Seal of Approval,’ backed by solid academic assurance, which CSUH professional education offers.

CSUH will:

	Provide oversight and approval for any training providers wishing to offer CEUs and/or academic credit
	Work with partners to identify ‘lifelong learning’ training programs and resources
	Provide transcripts and letters to engineers or anyone taking programs through the portal resources
	Assist in marketing the portal through the CSUH Extended Education website

Cal State Hayward Extension designs a variety of programs to meet the demands of a broad audience of adult working professionals. Professional Development programs aid managers and technical professionals in business, government agencies, and social services; teachers and educators; and others interested in strengthening their professional skill set.
